JAN 4 1994 FILE : SUBJECT : Resolution Appointing Three (3) Public Members I to the Civil Service Board i FROM: Ces ip REFERENCES Cit 0aer ENCLOSURES: i RECOMMENDATION It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution appointing three (3) public members to the Civil Service Board, commencing January 7, 1994 for a term to expire on January 11, 1996. Sec. 36, Civil Service, of the Charter and Code of the City of Miami provides that three (3) of the five (5) Civil Service Board Members shall be appointed by the Commission. BACKGROUND The term of office for -the following three (3) public Civil Service Board members expires January 6, 1994. (Resolution No. 92-34): NAME NOMINATED BY Nelly R. Plummer The regular meetings of the Civil Service Board for the month of January are scheduled for January 4 and 18, 1994. To ensure j continuity in the seating of the new Board, it becomes essential that. the appointments be made at the meeting of January 13 as it is the first Commission meeting following the expiration date of the current Board members and would not adversely affect the convening of the j meeting of January 18.
