BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The following individuals are hereby appointed as members of the Civil Service Board of the City of Miami, Florida, to serve a term commencing January 7, 1994 and expiring January 11, 1996: NAME Gerald Silverman Rita Suarez George H. ODIO City Manager Enclosed herein please find a copy of R-94-31 which was passed and adopted by the City of Miami Commission at its meeting held on January 13, 1994, reappointing you to serve on the Civil Service Board of the City of Miami. Pursuant to Dade County Ordinance No. 77-13, and the Financial Disclosure law, Chapter 112.3145, Florida Statutes, as a member of the Civil Service Board, you will be required to file a Statement of Financial Interests form with the Dade County Supervisor, Elections Department. Their address is: Metro Dade Center, 111 N.W. 1st Street, Suite 1910, Miami, Florida 33128- 1993 (Tel: 375-5553). Sections 2-305 through 306 of the City of Miami Code require all elective and appointive officers or employees of the City to submit to the City Clerk a Statement of Real Property Owned by him/her, whether the title be either legal or equitable, whether owned in whole or in part, as well as a Statement of Corporate Real Property in which he/she has a controlling interest, or is an officer. Enclosed herein please find a copy of said forms to fill out. Kindly complete and return them to us at your earliest convenience. Also enclosed is a copy of a memorandum from A. Quinn Jones, III, City Attorney, dated October 22, 1991, outlining some guidelines to assist members of City Boards and Committees in complying with the Government in the Sunshine Law. JAN 4 1994 FILE : SUBJECT : Resolution Appointing Three (3) Public Members I to the Civil Service Board i FROM: Ces ip REFERENCES Cit 0aer ENCLOSURES: i RECOMMENDATION It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution appointing three (3) public members to the Civil Service Board, commencing January 7, 1994 for a term to expire on January 11, 1996. Sec. 36, Civil Service, of the Charter and Code of the City of Miami provides that three (3) of the five (5) Civil Service Board Members shall be appointed by the Commission. BACKGROUND The term of office for -the following three (3) public Civil Service Board members expires January 6, 1994. (Resolution No. 92-34): NAME NOMINATED BY Nelly R. Plummer The regular meetings of the Civil Service Board for the month of January are scheduled for January 4 and 18, 1994. To ensure j continuity in the seating of the new Board, it becomes essential that. the appointments be made at the meeting of January 13 as it is the first Commission meeting following the expiration date of the current Board members and would not adversely affect the convening of the j meeting of January 18.
