HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-94-0029J-94-3 12/21/93 RESOLUTION NO . 9 4 - 29 A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING TWO ELECTED EMPLOYEE MEMBERS TO SERVE ON THE CIVIL SERVICE BOARD OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, FOR A TERM AS HEREIN SPECIFIED. WHEREAS, the City Charter provides for the election of two (2) members to the Civil Service Board by City of Miami employees with civil service status; and WHEREAS, elections have been duly held for the purpose of electing two (2) board members with the herein results; and WHEREAS, the herein resolution confirms the election of two (2) such members to the Civil Service Board; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The following individuals are hereby confirmed as elected members to serve on the Civil Service Board of the City of Miami, Florida, for a term commencing January 14, 1994 and expiring January 11, 1996: CITY GOYOUSSION KEETING OF JAI 1 3 1994 Resolution No. 94- 29 NAM. Sec. 36, Civil Service, of the Charter and Code of the City of Miami provides that two (2) of the five (5) Civil Service Board Members shall be elected by employees. with Civil Service status and confirmed by the Commission. The following two (2) civil service employees won the Civil Service Board Elections held on December 2 and 3, 1993 and must be confirmed by the Commission. NAME Louis Kickasola Orlando Llamas The regular meetings of the Civil Service Board for the month of January are scheduled for January 4 and 18, 1994. To ensure continuity in the seating of the new Board, it becomes essential,that the confirmation of the elected, employee members be made at the meeting of January 13 as it is the same date as the expiration date of the current elected Board members. Additionally, if the confirmation is made at the January 13 Commission meeting, the Board would be able to hold its regularly scheduled meeting of January 18. Pursuant to Dade County Ordinance No. 77-13, and the Financial Disclosure law, Chapter 112.3145, Florida Statutes, as a member of the Civil Service Board, you will be required to file a Statement of Financial Interests form with the Dade County Supervisor, Elections Department. Their address is: Metro Dade Center, 111 N.W. 1st Street, Suite 1910, Miami, Florida 33128- 1993 (Tel: 375-5553). Sections 2-305 through 306 of the City of Miami Code require all elective and appointive officers or employees of the City to submit to the City Clerk a Statement of Real Property Owned by him/her, whether the title be either legal or equitable, whether owned in whole or in part, as well as a Statement of Corporate Real Property in which he/she has a controlling interest, or is an officer. Enclosed herein please find a copy of said forms to fill out. Kindly complete and return them to us at your earliest convenience. Also enclosed is a copy of a memorandum from A. Quinn Jones, III, City Attorney, dated October 22, 1991, outlining some guidelines to assist members of City Boards and Committees in complying with the Government in the Sunshine Law.
