Home My WebLink AboutO-11201r, J-94-840 9/28/94 ORDINANCE NO. 11201 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE REQUIREMENTS FOR TERMS OF i OFFICE AND REMOVAL OF MEMBERS OF THE URBAN DEVELOPMENT REVIEW BOARD TO CONFORM WITH THE PROVISIONS OF ORDINANCE NO. 11130, ADOPTED MARCH 24, - 1994; MORE PARTICULARLY BY AMENDING SECTION 62-84 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS AMENDED; CONTAINING A REPEALER PROVISION AND A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, pursuant to Ordinance No. 11130, as amended, adopted March 24, 1994, the City Commission established the standards for the creation and review of boards in the City of Miami; and WHEREAS, the City Commission desires to amend the Code of the City of Miami, as amended, as it relates to the requirements for terms of office and'. removal of members of the Urban Development Review Board to conform with the provisions of Ordinance No. 11130; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Ordinance are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this section. 11201 9 i . 1 Section 2. Section 62-84 of the Code of the'City of Miami, Florida, as amended, is hereby amended in the following particulars: "Sec. 62-84 Membership. (2) Terms of office: Members of the urban development review board shall be appointed +&r three years terms, exeept that mI.M... first beard appeintment under this artiele sh be appeimted as follows: feur (4) members for -a term ef three (3) years, three (3) members fer -a term ef -two (2) years, and two (2) membes and- yeff to serve a term of two (2) years. or until the Nominating Commissioner leaves office. whichever occurs first. Notwithstanding the above, individual members may serve until their successor is appointed and qualified. After the initial term of appointment, no member of the board shall be reapponted to more than two (2) consecutive terms, thereafter. 9 1 Words and/or figures stricken through shall be deleted. TI have removed and any member or alternate member of the board, who fails to comoly with the attendance requirements contained in Section 2- 430 of this Code shall be automatically removed in the manner arescribed under Section 2-433 of this Code. Following .said removal, the city commission shall fill the vacancy pursuant to subsection (3) above. (Ord. No. 10674, & 1, 11- 30-89; Ord. No. 10789, & 1, 9-27-90) Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances insofar as they are inconsistent or in conflict with the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby repealed. 11201 —3— Section 4. If any section, part of section, paragraph, clause, phrase, or word of this Ordinance is declare invalid, the remaining provisions of this Ordinance shall not be affected. Section 5. This Ordinance shall become effective thirty (30) days after final reading and adoption thereof. 6 PASSED ON FIRST READING BY TITLE ONLY THIS 2 7 th day of October 1994.
