HomeMy WebLinkAboutItem #21 - Discussion ItemCITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA INTER -OFFICE MEMORANDUM 17 Honorable Mayor and Members DATE : gEp f 2 1994 FILE of the City Commission SUB.IECT : Phase 11 Administration Building UDP Declaration ,OM : Cesa I REFERENCES: City Commission Meeting City r of September 22, 1994 ENCLOSURES: It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached Resolution declaring development of the Phase II Administration Building, located adjacent to 275 NW 2nd Street, Miami, Florida, a Unified Development Project ("UDP"), authorizing the preparation of a Request for Proposals ("RFP") document, and scheduling a public hearing for December 8, 1994, at 10:00 am to take testimony of regarding such UDP; in accordance with Section 29A(c) of the City Charter and Section 18.52.9 of the City Code. The Department of Development & Housing Conservation recommends the approval of the attached Resolution declaring the most advantages method to develop certain improvements to the City -owned property, located adjacent to 275 NW 2 Street, is by a Unified Development Project. The first step in the process is for the City Commission to declare the Phase 11 Administration Building to be a Unified Development Project and authorize the preparation of an RFP. The proposed Resolution further sets a Public Hearing for December 8, 1994, at 10:00 am to discuss the contents of the RFP. At the conclusion of the Public Hearing, the City Commission, if disposed to proceed, authorizes the issuance of an RFP for the UDP project, selects a certified public accounting firm and appoints members to a review committee to evaluate proposals and render a written report to the City Manager. It is therefore recommended that the attached Resolution be adopted by the City Commission to implement the Unified Development Project process for development of the Phase Il Administration Building, in accordance with City Charter and Code requirements.
