Lauderdale, F1 33309, at an annual proposed cost of $54,447.58, with funds allocated from Department of Fire -Rescue FY 194 Budget Account Code No.:280401-880 and Dade County EMS Grant Award: Index #280- 528 Object code #840. BACKGROUND: The Fire Station Alerting System will ensure that Fire Stations are alerted in an efficient manner. The system will use our 800 ,mhz radio to alert the stations. Currently, telephone lines are used to alert the stations and they have proven to be unreliable. This System will also enable us to send and receive many different types of messages/data via the air waves. Only one proposal was received. It is recommended that the award be made to the sole proposer, Motorola Communications and Electronics Inc., in accordance with RFP No. 93-94-001, on a five (5) year lease purchase basis. Proposals submitted after the deadline and/or submitted to any other location or office shall be deemed not responsive and will be rejected. Ordinance No. 10062, as amended, established a goal of Awarding 51% of the City's total dollar volume of all expenditures for All Goods and Services to Black, Hispanic and Women Minority Business Enterprises on an equal basis. Minority and women vendors who are interested in submitting proposals and who are not registered with the City as minority or women vendors are advised to contact the City Procurement Office, 1390 N.W. 20th Street, Second Floor, Telephone 575-5174. Section 18-52.1(h) of the City Code, as amended, states that the City Commission may offer to a responsible and responsive local bidder, whose primary office is located in the City of Miami, the opportunity of accepting a bid at the low bid amount, if the original bid amount submitted by the local vendor does not exceed 110 percent of the lowest other responsible and responsive bidder. Detailed specifications for the proposals are available upon request at the City Procurement Office. The City Manager may reject all proposals and readvertise.
