Dawkins REFERENCES: Vice Mayor ENCLOSURES: The 93-94 City of Miami Fiscal Budget, has a budgeted amount of $90,296,872. This is an increase of $2,469,917 (3%) more than was in the 92-93 fiscal budget. Attached is a memorandum from the manager where the police department received $2,267,500 in grant funds. This gives $92,564,372 to the police department. By copy of this memorandum I am requesting to know the amount of funds given to the police department from the Law Enforcement Trust Funds during the 93-94,fiscal year. I am also requesting that the manager schedule for discussion the $24,000, that the commission passed legislation to give to the P.O.P. Unit and a detailed narrative telling me when it was made available, date and' time, and expenditures equalling $24,000. City Manager ENCLOSURES: At the request of Mr. Warren Buttler from your office, I am listing the grants currently awarded to the Miami Police Department. - Haitian Narcotics Enforcement Team Grant, $1351,000 awarded by the U.S. Department of Justice to investigate narcotics activities within a growing Haitian Community in the City of Miami. - High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Grant, $182,500 awarded by the U.S. Department of Justice through Metropolitan Dade County to conduct street narcotics enforcement operations. - Neighborhood Enhancement Teams Expanded, $1,950,000 awarded by the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs, Bureau of Justice Assistance to increase the number of Neighborhood Resource Officers assigned to NET service areas.
