RESOLUTION NO. 9 802
A RESOLUTION REAPPOINTING A CERTAIN
INDIVIDUAL AND CONFIRMING THE REAPPOINTMENT
OF A CERTAIN INDIVIDUAL AS MEMBERS OF THE
BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
GENERAL EMPLOYEES' AND SANITATION EMPLOYEES'
RETIREMENT TRUST FOR A TERM OF OFFICE AS
HEREIN SPECIFIED.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The following individual is hereby
reappointed as a member of the Board of Trustees of the City of
Miami General Employees' and Sanitation Employees' Retirement
Trust, Board of Directors, to serve a term expiring
November 30, 1997:

It is recommended that the City Commission confirm the (re)appointment
by AFSCME of two members as members of the City of Miami General
Employees' and Sanitation Employees' Retirement Trust Board of
Trustees as per attached Resolution.
I�ACKGROUND :
City of Miami Code Section 40-227(A), (Ordinance No. 10002), provides
for the appointment of a nine member board of trustees to administer
and manage the retirement plan known as the "City of Miami General
Employees' and Sanitation Employees' Retirement Trust." Of these nine
members, one is to be selected by the City Manager, two by the general
employees (AFSCME bargaining unit), and two by the sanitation
employees (LIUNA bargaining unit). Four independent trustees are to
be selected upon recommendation, by the two bargaining units, by the
City Commission.
Mr. Charles Cox, President of. AFSCME, has submitted for confirmation
the name of Mr. William J. Rabun and Mr. Hector Serrano for
reappointments to the Pension Board (see attached letter). The term
of office would begin on December 1, 1995 and expire on November 30,
1997.
