HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-95-0797J-95-716 7/24/95 RESOLUTION NO. 9 5 — 797 A RESOLUTION APPOINTING AN INDIVIDUAL TO SERVE AS A MEMBER OF THE URBAN DEVELOPMENT REVIEW BOARD FOR THE REMAINDER OF UNEXPIRED TERMS OF OFFICE AS DESIGNATED HEREIN AND WAVING THE RESIDENCY REQUIREMENTS FOR SAID APPOINTMENT. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The following individual is hereby appointed to serve as a regular member of the Urban Development Review Board for the remainder of an unexpired term of office ending October 27, 1996: APPOINTEE NOMINATED BY David Wolfberg Stephen P. Clark, Mayor Section 2. The residency requirements contained in Section 2-428 of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, are hereby waived with regard to said appointment. Section 3. Fo an September 14 Agenda City Clerk ENCLOSURES (1) At the Commission meeting of July 13, 1995, Mayor Claris deferred on his appointment to the Urban Development Review Board, Mayor Clark had appointed David Wolfberg on February 15, 1995 to said board. Mr. Wolfberg does not comply with the residency requirement, as stipulated under Miami City Code Section 2-428. Pursuant to Miami Code Section 2-428, the City Commission may waive the residency requirement (in connection with Mr. Wolfberg) by a four -fifths vcte of its membership, if the Commission wishes to appoint said individual. Mr. Wolfberg has expressed interest to our office in being a member of the board. Mayor Clark reserves the right to consider another nominee to replace Mr. Wolfberg. We are requesting the Agenda Office, by copy of this memorandum, to place this issue on the September 14, 1995 agenda for consideration by the City Commission. For your information, attached please find a copy of current membership on said board. In connection with the pending appointment to be made, we wish to remind the Commission that Code Section 62-84, reads in part: "(a) At least five (5) members shall be architects registered in the State -of Florida. Each member shall have had five (5) years of experience after registration in the practice of his profession. (b) Four (4) other members shall be either architects of landscape architects registered in the state, and shall meet the same criteria as subparagraph (a), above.
