Home My WebLink AboutR-95-0735R J-95-889 10/26/95 RESOLUTION NO. 0 5 - 735 A RESOLUTION, BY A FOUR -FIFTHS (4/5THS) AFFIRMATIVE VOTE OF THE MEMBERS OF THE CITY COMMISSION, AFTER A DULY ADVERTISED PUBLIC HEARING, RATIFYING, APPROVING AND CONFIRMING THE CITY MANAGER'S ACTION IN WAIVING THE REQUIREMENTS FOR COMPETITIVE SEALED BIDDING PROCEDURES AND IN OBTAINING INFORMAL, QUOTES FOR CITYWIDE LOT CLEARING SERVICES FOR. AN AS -NEEDED BASIS, FROM CANO LANDSCAPING SERVICES, J.R. ALVAREZ LAND CLEARING, RIPLEY'S LAWNCARE, INC., L. JONES TRUCK SERVICE, DOUBLE B ENTERPRISES, INC., PAINT PERFECT AND ROBERT McINTYRE, FOR A TOTAL PROPOSED ANNUAL AMOUNT OF $170,000.00; ALLOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR FROM ACCOUNT CODE NOS. 2511.13-205-145001, IN THE AMOUNT OF $20,000.00, AND 452122-205-799229, IN THE AMOUNT OF $150,000.00; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO INSTRUCT THE CHIEF PROCUREMENT OFFICER TO ISSUE PURCHASE ORDERS FOR SAID SERVICES, AS NEEDED. WHEREAS, the Department of Finance/Procurement Management Division, has determined that it is most advantageous to obtain informal quotes as competitive bidding procedures are not practical due to the inability to determine, in advance, the actual cost of clearing a lot containing varied unknown materials and goods; and WHEREAS, the Chief Procurement Officer has adopted a finding that Cano Landscaping Services, Ripley's Lawncare, Inc., L. Jones Truck Service, Double B Enterprises, Inc., Paint Perfect and Robert McIntyre are qualified vendors who possess the required insurance and equipment for said services; and WHEREAS, the finding of the Chief Procurement Officer has been approved and adopted as the finding of the City Manager; and CITY CObV41SSION MEETING OF 0 C T 2 E 1995 Resolution No. 95- 735 WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Assistant City Manager responsible for the Department of Finance recommend that the requirements for competitive formal sealed bids be waived and the procurement of said services, as needed, be ratified, approved and conf_irnied; and WHEREAS, funds are available from Account Code Nos. 251113-205-145001 and 452122-205-688229; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. By a four -fifths (4/5ths) affirmative vote of the Members of the City Commission, after a duly advertised public hearing, the City Manager's action in waiving the requirements for competitive sealed bidding procedures and in obtaining informal quotes for Citywide lot clearing services on an as -needed basis, from Cano Landscaping Services, J.R. Alvarez Land Clearing, Ripley's Lawncare, Inc., L. Jones Truck Service, Double B Enterprises, Inc., Paint Perfect and Robert McIntyre, for a total proposed annual amount of $170,000.00, is hereby ratified, approved and confirmed, with funds therefor hereby allocated from Account Code Nos. 251113-205-145001, in the amount of $20,000.00, and 452122-205-799229, in the amount of $150,000.00. 95- 735 Section 3. The City Manager is hereby authorized to instruct the Chief Procurement Officer to issue purchase orders for said services, as needed. Section 4. Jones Truck Service, Double B Enterprises, Inc., Robert McIntyre and )R Alvarez Land Clearing for a total annual amount of $170,000.00.
