RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION RATIFYING AND APPROVING THE CITY
MANAGER'S ACTION IN ACCEPTING THE TEMPORARY
j DONATION OF (1) HISTORICAL MURALS DEPICTING
THE GROWTH OF THE CITY OF MIAMI DURING ITS
100 YEAR HISTORY FROM THE HISTORICAL MUSEUM
OF SOUTH FLORIDA, SAID MURALS TO BE DISPLAYED
IN THE COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE (°C.O.W.rr)
ROOM AT CITY HALL AND (2) THE SERVICES
NECESSARY TO PROVIDE LIGHTING FOR SAID MURALS
FROM MIAMI STAGE LIGHTING, INC., SAID DISPLAY
TO BE EXHIBITED FOR THE PERIOD COMMENCING
AUGUST, 1995 AND ENDING DECEMBER, 1996.
WHEREAS, cooperation between the City, other public agencies
and the private sector is essential for our local government to
celebrate the centennial of the incorporation of the City of
Miami; and
WHEREAS, the Historical Museum of South Florida and Miami
Stage Lighting, Inc., have recognized the importance of said
cooperation and the corresponding positive impact of the

celebration of the City's centennial in our community; and
WHEREAS, consequently, the Historical Museum of South

Florida has offered the temporary donation of historical murals
depicting the growth of the City of Miami during its 100 year
history, said murals to be displayed in the C.O.W. Room at City
Hall for the period commencing August, 1995 and ending December,
1996; and

WHEREAS, Miami Stage Lighting, Inc., has offered the
temporary donation of the services necessary to provide lighting
for said murals;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the
Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference
thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this
Section.
I Section 2. The City Manager's action in accepting the
temporary donation of (1) historical murals depicting the growth
of the City of Miami during its 100 year history from the
j Historical Museum of South Florida, said murals to be displayed

in the Committee of the Whole (C.O.W.) Room at City Hall and (2)
the services necessary to provide lighting for said murals from
Miami Stage Lighting, Inc., said display to be exhibited for the
j period commencing August, 1995 and ending December, 1996, is
hereby ratified and approved.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption.

RECOMMENDATION:
It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the enclosed Resolution,
to accept the temporary donation of (1) Historical Murals depicting the growth of the City
of Miami during its 100 year history from the Historical Museum of South Florida and
(2) the services necessary to provide lighting for the Murals from Miami Stagelighting,
Inc. The display will be on exhibit from August 1995 thru December 1996 in the C.O.W.
room at City Hall.
BACKGROUND:
The above mentioned Murals were previously on display at the prior Centennial office.
They are a wonderful addition to create a Centennial atmosphere in and around the
C.O.W. room.
