The current contracts with Martin's Lamar Uniform, for police uniforms and
leather goods, expire March 31, 1996. All extensions allowed by previously
adopted Resolutions have been exhausted. The Police Department desires to
have these contracts coincide with the fiscal year budget. Having the
contracts on a schedule by fiscal year will allow for more efficient
accounting. The Department. of Audits also recommended this action after
conducting an audit recently. The bid process for new contracts will be
initiated so its conclusion will coincide with the expiration of this
extension.
