HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-95-0622J-95-723 8/9/95 RESOLUTION NO. 9 5 w 6,2 2 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXTEND THE CONTRACTS, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY AND AT THE SAME PRICE, TERMS, AND CONDITIONS, WITH MARTIN'S LAMAR UNIFORMS FOR POLICE UNIFORMS AND LEATHER GOODS TO SEPTEMBER 30, 1996; ALLOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR FROM THE POLICE DEPARTMENT GENERAL OPERATING BUDGET, INDEX CODE 290201-075. WHEREAS, Resolution Nos. 93-161 and 93-235, adopted March 11, 1993 and April 15, 1993, respectively, authorized the purchase of police uniforms from Martin's Lamar Uniforms; and WHEREAS, Resolution No. 93-235.1, adopted April 15, 1993, authorized the purchase of leather goods from Martin's Lamar Uniforms; and WHEREAS, each resolution authorized two additional one year extension periods, for a total of three years; and WHEREAS, both contracts are in the third and final extension period and scheduled to expire March 31, 1996; and WHEREAS, the Police Department desires to extend both contracts to expire on September 30, 1996, which coincides with the fiscal year budget; and WHEREAS, the Department of Internal Audits conducted an audit of these accounts and recommended this action for more efficient accounting purposes; and CITY COMMISSION MEETIIIG OF S E P 1 4 1999 Resolution No. 95- 622 I WHEREAS, allocations for the third year contracts for I uniforms is $440,106.50 and $75,270 for leather goods; and WHEREAS, additional funds are available from the Police Department General Operating Budget, Index Code 290201-075; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorizedi to i extend the contracts, in a form acceptable to the City Attorney and at the same price, terms, and conditions, with Martin's Lamar Uniforms for Police uniforms and leather goods to September 30, 1996, with funds therefor hereby allocated from the Police Department General Operating Budget, Index Code 290201-075. All extensions allowed by previously adopted Resolutions have been exhausted. The Police Department desires to have these contracts coincide with the fiscal year budget. Having the contracts on a schedule by fiscal year will allow for more efficient accounting. The Department. of Audits also recommended this action after conducting an audit recently. The bid process for new contracts will be initiated so its conclusion will coincide with the expiration of this extension. ,f exlz l 95- 62.E
