May 19, 1995 Clerk of City Commission Miami City Hall Pan American Drive Miami, Florida 33133 RE: Simpson Park Request for Emergency Matter to Be Presented on Agenda Dear Sir or Madam: On behalf of the Miami -Roads Neighborhood Civic Association, Inc., I request that our Association's presentation be placed on your next Agenda on an emergency basis. The issues we wish to bring before the Commission concern -the protection of Simpson Park. The park and the Garden Center building are in immediate and real danger of permanent destruction. The protector and only on site defender of the park, Ralph Beaudry, is retiring next week. With his leaving, the defacers of park property will now be free to roam the park. With his leaving, the wonderful species of flora, some of which are unique to this area, may be exterminated. We need the immediate assistance of the City Commission, and we need an opportunity to present our concerns NOW, while the park still has a fighting chance of survival. We, the neighbors of this beautiful and unique Miami park, want to save it and the Garden Center Building for generations to come. Please allow us to present our thoughts to you on your next agenda. Please contact me at my home phone number of 854-8547. Thank you. Very truly yours, 41IND KOENIGSBERG P.T. wasident 144 SW 19 Road Miami, FL 33129 cc: Mayor Steve Clark (v -3 Q
