FOR THE FURNISHING AND INSTALLATION OF CHAIN LINK FENCING AT CHARLES HADLEY PARK FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION, AT A TOTAL PROPOSED AMOUNT OF $34,361.00; ALLOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR FROM COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDS, PROJECT NO. 702404, ACCOUNT CODE NO. 451941-860; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO INSTRUCT THE CHIEF PROCUREMENT OFFICER TO ISSUE A PURCHASE ORDER FOR THIS ACQUISITION. WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received June 12, 1995, for the furnishing and installation of chain link fencing at Charles Hadley Park for the Department of Parks and Recreation; and WHEREAS, invitations for Bid No. 94-95-152R were mailed to sixteen (16) potential bidders and one (1) bid was received; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Motion No. 95-34, adopted January 12, 1995, the City Commission directed the City Manager to obtain bids for the furnishing and installation of chain link fencing at Charles Hadley Park, based on community input received from neighborhood residents as to the need at this park; and WHEREAS,- funds for this purchase are available from the Community Development Block Grant Funds, Project No. 702404, Account Code No. 451941-860; and i ^ iC.{TY C01►'IIt+il'SSION EETTNG OF J ll LJi! 3 1995 ResoNo. 9�-- 94 f Warren Fence Company, Inc. be accepted as the only responsive and responsible bid NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Company, Inc. for the furnishing and installation of chain link fencing at Charles Hadley Park for the Department of Parks and Recreation, at a total proposed amount of $34,361.00, is hereby accepted, with funds therefor hereby allocated from the Community Development Block Grant Fund, Project No. 702404, Account Code No. 451941-860. Section 3. The City Manager is hereby authorized to instruct the Chief Procurement Officer to issue a purchase order for,this acquisition. Section 4. Ill Street, Miami, Florida, a Black -owned firm and the low bidder under Bid No. 94- 95-152R-M/WBE. Funds for this improvement are available from the Comnunit Development Block Grant Funds, Project #702404, Index Account ode No. 451941-860. BACKGROUND: The City Commission., pursuant to Motion #95-34 on January 12, 1995, directed the City Manager to obtain bids for the furnishing and installation of -a chain link fence at Charles Hadley Park, based on community input received from neighborhood residents as to the need at this park. Following public notice, one (1) sealed bid was received on June 12, 1995 for the furnishing and installation of a chain link fence. Award of the bid is recommended to Warren Fence Company, ^'.-:ck-ovyned firm, located at 2530 N.W. ill Street, Miami, Florida, which submitted the only responsive and responsible bid. Total Amount of Bid: $34,361.00 Source of Funds: Community Development Block Grant Funds, Project #702404, Index Account Code No. 451941-860.
