HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-95-0378J-95-430 5/3/95 RESOLUTION NO. 9 5- 3 7 8 A RESOLUTION POSTPONING A PUBLIC HEARING, ORIGINALLY SCHEDULED FOR MAY 11, 1995, PURSUANT TO RESOLUTION NO. 95-290, TO A DATE TO BE DETERMINED BY THE CITY MANAGER; SAID PUBLIC HEARING TO TAKE TESTIMONY REGARDING A DRAFT REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS ("RFP") FOR A UNIFIED DEVELOPMENT PROJECT ("UDP") CONSISTING OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF A BOATYARD FACILITY, AND OPTIONAL ANCILLARY MARINE RELATED RETAIL AND RECREATIONAL USES ON APPROXIMATELY 6.632 ACRES OF CITY -OWNED WATERFRONT PROPERTY LOCATED AT 3501 RICKENBACKER CAUSEWAY, VIRGINIA KEY, MIAMI, FLORIDA WHEREAS, on April 27, 1995, pursuant to Resolution No. 95-290, the City Commission declared a UDP, the development of a Boatyard Facility, and optional ancillary marine -related retail and recreational uses on approximately 6.632 acres of City - owned waterfront property located at 3501 Rickenbacker Causeway, Virginia Key, Miami, Florida; and WHEREAS, pursuant to the aforementioned Resolution, it was determined that said UDP shall consist of an integrated package from the private sector that includes planning, design, construction, leasing and management of the proposed improvements; and CITY COMMSYON MEETING OF MAY 1 1 1995 Resolution No. 95- 378 WHEREAS, Resolution No. 95-290 further authorized the City Manager to prepare an RFP and schedule a public hearing for May 11, 1995 at 10:00 a.m., to consider the contents of the RFP; and WHEREAS, the two required appraisals of the property have not been completed at this time, preventing the draft RFP to be finalized, and necessitating the postponement of the public hearing to a later date; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings set forth in the Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. A public hearing originally scheduled for May 11, 1995 at 10:00 a.m, pusuant to Resolution No 95-290, is hereby postponed to a date to be I determined by the City Manager, said public hearing to consider the contents of and to i take testimony regarding a draft Request for Proposals ("RFP") for a Unified Development Project ("UDP") consisting of the development of a Boatyard Facility, and optional ancillary marine -related retail and recreational uses on approximately 6.632 acres of City -owned waterfront property located at 3501 Rickenbacker Causeway, Virginia Key, Miami, Florida. Resolution No. 95-290 further authorized the City Manager to prepare an RFP and scheduled a public hewing for May 11, 1995 to consider the contents of the RFP, all in accordance with City of Miami Charter Section 29-A(c) and City Code Section 18.52.9. It has become necessary to postpone the public hearing because the two required apprdL,;Ws of the property for this UDP have not been completed at this time, preventing the draft RFP from being finalized. At such time when all the in formation is acquired for the RFP, then the City Manager shall reschedule the public hearing. Attachment: Proposed Resolution 95- 378
