RECOMMENDATI N
It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the
attached Resolution accepting two (2) grants in the amounts of
$45,000 each from the State of Florida Department of
Environmental Protection for dock renovations at Legion Park and
a dock facility at Morningside Park under the Special Waterway
Projects Program. The legislation would also authorize the City

BACKGROUND
The Parks and Recreation Department had submitted applications to
the Department of Environmental Protection seeking grant funds
under the Special Waterway Projects Program for dock renovations
at Legion Park, located at 6447 N.E. 7 Avenue, and for the
construction of a dock facility at Morningside Park, located at
750 N.E. 55 Terrace.
We recently received notice from the State that our grant
applications for both of these projects had been approved.
Commission action at this time will permit the Administration to
proceed with these projects.
