RECOMMENDATIO
It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the
attached Resolution authorizing the City Manager to negotiate,
establish and apply special charges, terms and conditions on an
individual basis, thereby rescinding existing charges, terms and
conditions, for the use of the Curtis Park Sports Complex.
BACKGROUND
The City of Miami Parks and Recreation Department is responsible
for the operation of the Sports Complex at Curtis Park and to
secure the presentation of athletic events for the community at
this facility.
I This is a unique City of Miami facility because of the amenities
it offers to the public. Based on these characteristics,
prevailing market conditions have identified many different types
of organizations interested in using this facility for various
uses such as ft:otball, soccer, track, and baseball competitions.
These differec.- ses would be best addressed on a case by case
i
basis by the Ct:y Manager negotiating, establishing and applying
individual special charges, terms and conditions for each use.
We, therefore, recommend that due to the uniqueness of this
facility, the City Manager, or designee, be authorized to
negotiate and apply appropriate use fees, terms and conditions
with prospective users of the facility on an individual basis.
