RESOLUTION NO. 95- 323
A RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING AS AN OFFICIAL EVENT
IN THE CITY OF MIAMI, CANBOULAY -95, A
CARIBBEAN STYLE CARNIVAL FESTIVAL TO BE HELD
IN DOWNTOWN MIAMI, FLORIDA, IN OCTOBER, 1995,
SAID EVENT TO BE CONDUCTED BY CARIBBEAN
CANBOULAY OF MIAMI, INC. AND CO -SPONSORED BY
THE CITY OF MIAMI; SAID CO-SPONSORSHIP
CONDITIONED UPON THE FOLLOWING: (1) NO FUNDS
SHALL BE ALLOCATED BY THE CITY FOR SAID
EVENT; (2) THE CITY SHALL CONDUCT AN AUDIT;
AND (3) THE CITY SHALL DISBURSE ALL FUNDS
ASSOCIATED WITH SAID EVENT.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Motion No. 95-212, adopted March 27,
1995, the City Commission recognized Caribbean Canboulay of
Miami, Inc. as the official sponsor of Canboulay `95, a Caribbean
style carnival festival to take place in the City of Miami in
October 1995 and further directed the sponsor to meet with the
City Manager to work out specific details; and
WHEREAS, said Festival will promote understanding and
awareness of the Caribbean culture in South Florida; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission recognizes the need for such an
event in our community and wishes the City of Miami to support
and co-sponsor Canboulay '95, said co-sponsorship conditioned
upon the following: (1) no funds shall be allocated by the City
for said event; (2) the City shall conduct an audit; and (3) the
City shall disburse all funds associated with said event.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the
Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference
thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this
Section.
Section 2. Canboulay '95, a Caribbean style carnival
festival to be held in Downtown Miami, Florida, in October 1995,
is hereby recognized as an official event in the City of Miami,
said event to be conducted by Caribbean Canboulay of Miami, Inc.
and co -sponsored by the City of Miami, said co-sponsorship
conditioned upon the following: (1) no funds shall be allocated
by the City for said event; (2) the City shall conduct an audit;
and (3) the City shall disburse all funds associated with said
event.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption.
