RESOLUTION NO. 9 5- 308
A RESOLUTION CLASSIFYING FIFTEEN (15) SURPLUS
SANITATION TRUCKS AND ONE -HUNDRED (100)
SURPLUS CARS AS CATEGORY "A" SURPLUS STOCK,
SHOULD SUCH VEHICLES BECOME AVAILABLE;
FURTHER DONATING FIVE (5) SANITATION TRUCKS
OF SAID SURPLUS STOCK, IF AVAILABLE, TO EACH
OF THE FOLLOWING SISTER CITIES FOR USE IN
THEIR MUNICIPAL SANITATION AND INSPECTION
EFFORTS: MANAGUA, NICARAGUA, PORT -AU -PRINCE,
HAITI AND SAN JOSE, COSTA RICa, SUCH
DONATIONS TO BE VALID AND EFFECTIVE BETWEEN
MAY 1, 1995 AND APRIL 30, 1996; DIRECTING
THAT THE REMAINDER OF SAID CLASSIFIED STOCK
BE OFFERED FOR SALE TO SAID SISTER CITIES;
FURTHER, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
EXECUTE THE APPROPRIATE RELEASE DOCUMENTS AND
STIPULATING THAT TRANSPORTATION, PACKING AND
SHIPPING COSTS WILL BE THE SOLE
RESPONSIBILITY OF THE INDIVIDUAL SISTER
CITIES..
WHEREAS, the Sanitation Departments of the Sister Cities of
Managua, Nicaragua, Port-au-Prince, Haiti, and San Jose, Costa
Rica are in need of sanitation trucks and cars to be used in
their municipal sanitation and inspection efforts; and
WHEREAS, it is the intention of the City Commission that
between May 1, 1995 and April 30, 1996, if available, fifteen
(15) surplus sanitation trucks and one -hundred (100) surplus cars
be declared Category "A" Surplus Stock and that five (5)
sanitation trucks be donated to each of said Sister Cities and
that the remainder of said declared surplus stock be offered for
sale to said Sister Cities;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the
Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference
thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this
Section.
Section 2. Fifteen (15) surplus sanitation trucks and
one -hundred (100) surplus cars are hereby classified as
Category "A" Surplus Stock, should such vehicles become available
as surplus City stock.
Section 3. Within the period of May 1, 1995 and
April 30, 1996, five (5) sanitation trucks of said Category "A"
Stock shall be donated, if available, to each the following
Sister Cities for use in their municipal sanitation and
inspection efforts: Managua, Nicaragua, Port-au-Prince, Haiti
and San Jose, Costa Rica.
Section 4. The City Manager is hereby directed to offer
the remainder of said classified surplus stock for sale to said
Sister Cities.
Section 5. The City Manager is hereby authorized to
execute the appropriate release documents and further stipulating
that transportation, packing and shipping costs will be the sole
responsibility of the Sister Cities of Managua, Port-au-Prince
and San Jose.
Section 5. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption.

RECOMMENDATION:
It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt
the attached resolution classifying four (4) surplus 32 yard
rubbish dump trucks and ten (10) surplus cars, if available, as
category "A" Surplus Stock and donating the same to the Sister
City of Managua, in the Republic of Nicaragua.
.BACKGROUND:
The Sister City of Managua, in the Republic of Nicaragua, has
need for as stance in its municipal sanitation and inspection
efforts and 3s requested four (4) surplus 32 yard rubbish dump
trucks and ten (10) surplus cars to be used for such a purpose.
The attached resolution formalizes the donation of the above
noted surplus equipment.

agradecimiento de mis Hermanos Concejales y mio propio, por la valiosa
ayuda que nos ha venido brindando la Ciudad de Miami a travels del Programa
de Ciudades Hermanas.
A la vez deseo confirmarte to manifestado en la eonversaci6n
de esta manana, referente a nuestro interes de obtener en el marco del
hermanamiento entre nuestras cudades, donaci6n de equipos que Ustedes
reemplazaran tales Como 12 motocicletas de Policia, camiones de bolquetes de
30 y 10 ,!-das cubicas, 40 autom6viles que cambiaran at cuerpo de
lnspectores especialmente un patrol.
Como comprenderas esta ayuda es de vital importancia para el
desanollu de nuestra querida capital. Confiando en contar con to apoyo
incondicional y de tus prontas noticias a traves de nuestra comun amigo Byron
