HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-95-0263J-95-317 4/14/95 RESOLUTION NO. 9 5- 263 A RESOLUTION RELATED TO THE EIGHTH ANNUAL AMERICA'S BIRTHDAY BASH TO BE CONDUCTED BY THE BAYFRONT PARK MANAGEMENT TRUST ON JULY 4, 1995 AT BICENTENNIAL AND MILDRED AND CLAUDE PEPPER BAYFRONT PARKS; WAIVING CITY OF MIAMI POLICE AND FIRE RESCUE FEES IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $28,000; SAID WAIVER CONDITIONED UPON SUCH CONDITIONS AND LIMITATIONS AS MAY BE PRESCRIBED BY THE CITY MANAGER OR HIS DESIGNEE AND THE BAYFRONT PARK MANAGEMENT TRUST. WHEREAS, the Bayfront Park Management Trust has managed Bayfront Park with the goal of insuring maximum community involvement; and WHEREAS, the annual. America's Birthday Bash has grown to be one of the largest Fourth of July Celebrations in the Southeast; and WHEREAS, the Eight Annual America's Birthday Bash will take place in Bicentennial and Mildred and Claude Pepper Bayfront Parks, both managed by the Bayfront Park Management Trust; and WHEREAS, the events in both parks will be free and open to the public; and WHEREAS, the shows offered during the Eighth Annual America's Birthday Bash will be totally representative of Miami's multi -ethnic community; and f t1-7 .CITY COMMISSION MEETFNG OF APR 2 7 1995 Resolution No. 95- 263 WHEREAS, the America's Birthday Bash is one of the many events sponsored by the Trust that has been extremely successful in making downtown Miami a destination for Miami's residents and visitors; and WHEREAS, the waiver of the City of Miami Police and Fire Rescue fees will greatly assist the Trust in the production of America's Birthday Bash; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. City of Miami Police and Fire Rescue fees in an amount not to exceed $28,000 are hereby waived for the Eighth Annual America's Birthday Bash, to be conducted by the Bayfront Park Management Trust on July 4, 1995 at Bicentennial and Mildred and Claude Pepper Bayfront Parks. Section 3. The herein waiver is hereby conditioned upon such conditions and limitations as may be prescribed by the City Manager or his designee and the Bayfront Park Management Trust. Section 4.
