A RESOLUTION RATIFYING THE CITY MANAGER'S
ACTION INSTRUCTING THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS
AND RECREATION TO ISSUE A PARK PERMIT FOR A
TOTAL FEE OF $15,000.00 TO METROPOLITAN DADE
COUNTY FOR THE USE OF VIRGINIA KEY BEACH AND,
IN THE CASE OF AN OVERFLOW, THE MARINE
STADIUM PARKING LOT, FOR PARKING IN RELATION
TO THE 1995 LIPTON TENNIS TOURNAMENT FOR THE
PERIOD OF MARCH 17, 1995 THROUGH
MARCH 26, 1995.
WHEREAS, as in previous years, Metropolitan Dade County has
requested the use of Virginia Key Beach and, in the case of an
overflow, the Marine Stadium parking lot, for back-up spectator
parking in relation to the 1995 Lipton Tennis Tournament for the
period of March 17, 1995 through March 26, 1995; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager has instructed the Department of
Parks and Recreation to issue a park permit for a total fee of
$15,000.00 to Metropolitan Dade County for said use; and
WHEREAS, Metropolitan Dade County, with its employees and at
its own expense, prepared, operated and maintained Virginia Key
Beach and the Marine Stadium parking lot for parking related to
the 1995 Lipton Tennis Tournament, along with providing
acceptable insurance coverage for said use;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the
Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference
thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this
Section.
Section 2. The City Manager's action instructing the
Department of Parks and Recreation to issue a park permit for a
total feel of $15,000.00 to Metropolitan Dade County for the use
of Virginia Key Beach and, in the case of an overflow, the Marine
Stadium parking lot, for parking in relation to the 1995 Lipton
Tennis Tournament for the period of March 17, 1995 through
March 26, 1995 is hereby ratified.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 27th day of March 1994.

RECOMMENDATION
It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the
attached Resolution ratifying the City Manager's action
instructing the Department of Parks and Recreation to issue a
park permit for a total fee of $15,000.00, to Metropolitan Dade
County for the use of Virginia Key Beach and in the case of an
overflow, the Marine Stadium parking lot, for parking in relation
to the 1995 Lipton Tennis Tournament from March 17, 1995, through
March 26, 1995.
BACKGROUND
As in previous years, Metropolitan Dade County has requested the
use of Virginia Key Beach and in the case of an overflow, the
Marine Stadium parking lot, for back-up spectator parking in
relation to the 1995 Lipton Tennis Tournament for the period of
March 17, 1995, through March 26, 1995.
The City Manager has instructed the Department of Parks and
Recreation to issue a park permit for a total fee of $15,000.00,
to Metropolitan Dade County for this use.
Metropolitan Dade County, with its employees and at its own
expense, prepared, operated and maintained Virginia Key Beach and
the Marine Stadium parking lot for parking related to the 1995
Lipton Tennis Tournament, along with providing acceptable
insurance coverage.
We therefore recommend that the City Manager's action be ratified
instructing the Department of Parks and Recreation to issue a
park permit to Metropolitan Dade County for the use of Virginia
Key Beach and in the case of an overflow, the Marine Stadium
parking lot.
