Q 72A,'T NS,IIICITYY M4996 -3- 95- 215 TO FROM CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA INTER -OFFICE MEMORANDUM Honorable Mayor and Members DATE of the City Commission Ces Mdi Cit ager SUBJECT: REFERENCES: ENCLOSURES: Cl MAR 16 1995 FILE : Agenda Item - It is respectfully recommended that the attached resolution amending Resolution No. 95-105, adopted February 9, 1995 be approved; thereby providing for the purchase of said vehicles, with funds for said purchase to be provided from monies received from the Sunshine State Governmental Financing Commission Tax Exempt Commercial Paper Revenue Notes and allocating funds therefore from the General Services Administration/Solid Waste Department Operating Budget, account code No. 420902-880, project No. 509000. The City Commission by Resolution No. 95-105 approved the Lease/Purchase of 230 1995 Chevrolet Caprice pursuit vehicles, under an existing Dade County contract No. 3407-OEC-3, from Ed Morse Chevrolet at a proposed amount of $3,544,373.60 for the Department of General Services Administration/Solid Waste. However, it has been determined that it is more advantageous to purchase the vehicles using funds available from the Sunshine State Governmental Financing Commission. The interest rate from Sunshine State is 4.25% as compared to 6.00% for a lease purchase. This would be a savings of about $126,000.
