HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-95-0213U-95-337 3/27/95 RESOLUTION No. 9 5 - 2 _i 3 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ISSUE A REVOCABLE PERMIT, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, TO LIONS HOME FOR THE BLIND, INC. , FOR USE OF SPACE AT THE MANUEL ARTIME COMMUNITY CENTER LOCATED AT 970 SOUTHWEST 1ST STREET, ROOMS 403-407, MIAML, FLORIDA, SAID REVOCABLE PERMIT TO: (1) BE F1OR AN INITIAL ONE-YEAR PERIOD, WHICH TERM MAY BE EXTENDED FOR ADDITIONAL ONE YEAR PERIODS UPON APPROVAL OF THE CITY MANAGER OR HIS DESIGNEE; (2) RBQUIRE A FEE OF $1.00 ANNUALLY; AND (3) BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS CONTAINED IN SAID REVOCABLE PERMIT; FURTHER WAIVING FEES, FOR USE OF SAID SPACE BY LIONS HOME FOR THE BLIND INC. PRIOR TO THE EXECUTION OF THE HEREIN REVOCABLE PERMIT, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $24,000. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MLAML, FLORiDA: Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized/ to issue a Revocable Permit, in a form acoeptable to the City Attorney, to Lions Home for the Blind, Inc., for use of space at the Manuel Artime Commanity Center located at 970 Southwest 1st Street, Rooms 403-407, Miami., Florida, said Revocable Permit to: (1) be for an initial one-year period, which term may be extended for additional one year periods upon approval of the City Manager or his designee; (2) require a fee of $1.00 annually; and (3) be in a000rdance with the terms and. conditions contained in said Revocable Permit. The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code provisions. cr1y COMMISSION MEETING OF MAR ?. 7 1995 Resolution No. 95- 213 0 Section 2. I St., Miami, Florida 33130 January 26, 1995 Honorable Victor H. de Yurre Commissioner, City of Miami f 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 Dear Commissioner de Yurre: As Lions Clubs International Past District Governor Manuel Rodriguez informed you, the Lions Home for the Blind has been experiencing a time of hardship due to the fact that revenues from different sources have decreased while, at the same time, expenditures required to provide the necessary services to the impoverished blind population of the City of Miami have increased. Therefore, we humbly request your help with the purpose that a Resolution be passed waiving applicable fees, in an amount not to exceed $24,000, for use of space consisting of room nos, 403-407 in the Manuel Artime Community Center by the Lions Home for the Blind, Inc., for the period commencing July 1, 1993 through June 30, 1995.
