ENCLOSURES:
It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the
attached resolution authorizing resurfacing and installation at
the basketball and tennis courts in Henderson Park by AAA Courts
Inc., located at 4730 S.W. 83 Terrace, Suite 102, Davie, Florida
33328, (a non -minority firm), under a currently effective
Metropolitan Dade County Contract #1153-0/95, at total cost of
$23,625.46. Funds for this improvement are to be provided from
the Capital Improvement Program, Project No. 331356, "Henderson
Park Renovations."
BACKGROUND
The Department of Parks and Recreation has obtained community
input as to the long term improvement needs of Henderson Park.
Both staff and the community have placed resurfacing and
installation at the basketball and tennis courts as high priority
items for the park renovations.
Metropolitan Dade County has a currently effective contract, No.
1153-0/95 for the construction and renovation of playing courts.
AAA Courts, Inc., located at 4730 S.W. 83 Terrace, Suite 102,
Davie, Florida 33328, was the lowest responsive and responsible
bidder to that competitive sealed bid. We therefore recommend
authorization to procure the services of AAA Courts for
resurfacing and installation at the basketball and tennis courts
at this site. The City received a grant from the State of
Florida Department of Natural Resources which will provide the
necessary financing for this project.
