Yacht Club on Watson Island, Miami., Florida, it is most advantageous for the City to procure from a private person one or more of the following integrated pacxages: M - Planning and design, construction and leasing; or - Planning and design, leasing and management; or - Planning and design, construction and management; or - Planning and design, construction, leasing axd management; CITY COMMISSIOAT MEETING OF FED 0 9 1-ngq Resolution No, 95- 99 WHEREAS, the City Commission directed the City Manager to initiate the process for a Unified Development Project for the development of a specialty botanical garden attraction on Watson Island, Miami., Florida; and WHEREAS, Section 29-A(o) of the City Charter further requires that the City Commission hold a public hearing to consider the contents of the Request for Proposals ("RFP"); and. WHEREAS, Section 29-A(o) further authorizes, at the conclusion of the public hearing, if the City Commission is disposed to proceed, issuance of a RFP, selection of a certified public accounting firm, and appointment of members to a review oamTti.ttee from persons recommended by the City Manager; Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The development of a specialty botanical garden attraction on City -owned waterfront property located in the vicinity of the Japanese Garden and the Miami, Yacht Club on Watson Island, Miami., Florida, is hereby declared a Unified Development Project (UDP). Section 3. The City Manager is hereby authorized to prepare a draft Request for Proposals (RFP) to procure from a private person, an integrated package which consists of planning and design, construction, leasing and management of improvements for said UDP. Section 4. A public hearing is hereby scheduled for May 11, 1995 at 10:00 A.M. to take testimony regax i-ng the draft RFP for said UDP. Section 5. BACKGROUND: The City Commission directed the City Manager to initiate the Unified Development Project (UDP) process for the development of a specialty botanical garden attraction on City -owned waterfront property located in the vicinity of the Japanese Garden and the Miami Yacht Club on Watson Island, Miami, Florida. In accordance with the requirements set forth for UDPs in City of Miami Charter Section 29-A(c) and City of Miami Code Section 18-52.9, the City of Miami Commission must declared the development of improvements a Unified Development Project as stipulated in the attached Resolution. The proposed Resolution further sets a public hearing for May 11, 1995 at 10:00 a.m. to take testimony regarding a draft Request for Proposals (RFP) for this UDP. At the conclusion of the public hearing, the City Commission, may authorize the issuance of the RFP, select a certified public accounting firm and appoint members for a review committee to evaluate proposals and render a written report to the City Manager. 95-- 99 ��'!
