Clark Mayor City of Miami 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, Fl. 33133 Dear Mayor Clark: We are respectfully requesting that the City assist our organizatior"La Casa d__e Lomas Municipios" in comnletins? our building. The building is located at 2400 I4 St.. The City ity was gracious in donating the property so that we could continue to provide leadership and unity to serve Cubans, both in Cuba and the United States. We also serve and are willing to provide assistance to any refugees from any country. We are a very active organization and hold different activities to preserve Cuban culture and traditions. Every year, we stage the Cuban Municipalities Fair, which is the largest Cuban cultural event in the U.S.A.. At the same time, we are very active in the community, participating in several projects to improve multi -ethnic relations in Miami and to help many humanitarian endeavors. The total cost of project is approximately 1.3 million. The first phase of the project will cost approximately $375,000.00 which will allow us to complete the building. The Dade County Commission has already approved granting $122,000.00 from their budget towards the project, and we have already spoken with the Governor's office who says he will appropriate from the General Revenue Funds $200,000.00 for this project. However, this needs to be approved by the legislature. The $53,000.00 we are asking from the City will enable us to complete our building. We ask that you favorably consider this request, so that we can continue to serve the people of Miami and Dade County. Sincerely, Mr. Blas Hernandez President of Board cc: City Commissioners ,le# 402ddA,11 Mr. Miguel Tudela President of Municipios 95- 69
