The use of Watson Island for parking purposes to provide the public with a park -and. -ride service from Watson Island to South Beach for the Pavarotti "On The Beach" Concert, to be conducted by the Context Association of Florida, sponsored by the City of Miami Beach, on January 22, 1995, is hereby authorized. Section 2. The herein authorization is hereby conditioned upon the organizers paying for all necessary costs of City services and fees associated with said event and obtaining all necessary permits and insurance to protect the City in the amount as prescribed by the City Manager or his designee. Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption. On behalf of the City of Miami Beach, I respectfully requests that the Mayor and City Commission ' approve the rental of Watson Island to the City of Miami Beach for this event. It is my understanding that the following terms are required: (1) rental fee is $1,500 per day, (2) insurance of $1,000,000 naming the City of Miami as an additionally insured, (3) hiring of off -duty City of Miami Police Officers for traffic control and (4) the City of Miami Beach shall provide all other staffing required. If these terms satisfy all City of Miami requirements concerning the use of Watson Island, please notify Mr. Jack Lubin If you should have any further questions, please contact Jack Lubin at 673- 7010 or myself at 673-7505. This is a non-profit event by the Concert Association of Florida and we request use of Watson Island at no cost. The event is free to the public other than certain reserved seats near the stage. This request has been discussed with City Manager Caesar odio and has received his conceptual approval. Please let me know what further needs to be done.
