ENCLOSURES:
It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission pass the
attached resolution ratifying, approving and confirming the City
Manager's emergency action in authorizing the acquisition of
400 Chevrolet Caprice hubcaps from Maroone Chevrolet a non -
minority, non -local vendor at a total proposed cost of $6,780.00.
Funds are available from Account Code 270601-773.
The Department of Police has a large number of 1991, 1992 and
1993 model year Chevrolet Caprices that have a tendency to lose
their hubcaps when placed into emergency maneuvers. The 1994
model year Caprice has a different type of wheel that uses a
screw on type of hubcap. As a result of the above noted
deficiency, the 1991, 1992 and 1993 model year patrol vehicles
that have missing hubcaps look unkempt and do not project the
professional image that our City deserves. The award was to
Maroone Chevrolet the lowest most responsive and responsible
bidder at a total proposed amount of $6,780.00. Funds for this
purchase are available from Account Code No. 421701-702-503001.
