FROM : CesqW H . dio REFERENCES: itJJ1Vr ENCLOSURES: RECOMMENDATION: It is respectfully recommended that a Resolution authorizing the funding of ASPIRA of Florida, Inc., in an amount not to exceed $15,000, from the Law Enforcement Trust Fund, be approved. BACKGROUND: The Police Department recognizes that the majority of crime committed today is committed by repeat offenders. Forty percent of first time youth offenders experience a repeat contact with the juvenile justice system. Many of these repeat offenders eventually drop out of high school and continue with a life of crime. ASPIRA offers a program designed to identify youth exhibiting high risk behavior and to divert them into prevention and intervention services. These funds are designated to target the Wynwood area. It is, therefore, recommended that a Resolution authorizing the funding of ASPIRA of Florida, Inc., in an amount not to exceed $15,000, be approved. Funding is to be from the Law Enforcement Trust Fund, Project No. 690001, Index Code No. 029002-247. 95- 4 f 0 AFFIDAVIT STATE OF FLORIDA: : SS COUNTY OF DADE : Before me this day personally appeared Donald H.
