HomeMy WebLinkAboutO-11321J-95-732 9/1 /95 11321 ORDINANCE NO.- AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING TWO (2) NEW SPECIAL REVENUE FUNDS UNDER THE TWO TITLES LISTED BELOW AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR THE OPERATION OF EACH OF THE TWO (2) NEW SPECIAL REVENUE FUNDS IN THE AMOUNTS AS FOLLOWS: GOOMBAY PLAZA HUD SECTION 108, $2,000,000.001 GOOMBAY PLAZA ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE GRANT, $300,000.00 AS APPROVED BY THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT ("HUD") FOR A TOTAL CDBG APPROPRIATION OF $2,300,000.00; CONTAINING A REPEALER PROVISION AND A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE. WHEREAS, the Department of Housing and Urban Development has approved a Section 108 Loan Guarantee in the amount of $2 million for the development of the Goombay Plaza Project by the Coconut Grove Local Development Corporation (CGLDC;) and WHEREAS, the Department of Housing and Urban Development has also approved an Economic Development Initiative Grant in the amount of $300,000.00 for the same project; and funds. WHEREAS, the herein ordinance is a proper vehicle to appropriate the aforesaid NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA- 11321 Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this ordinance are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The following Special Revenue Funds are hereby established and resources are hereby appropriated as described herein: FUND TITLE: Goombav Plaza HUD Section 108 RESOURCES: Federal Loan--U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development $2,000,000.00 APPROPRIATION: Goombav Plaza HUD Section 108 Total $2,000,000.00 FUND TITLE: Goombav Plaza Economic Development Initiative Grant RESOURCES: Federal Grant--U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development $ 300,000.00 APPROPRIATION: Goombav Plaza Economic Development Initiative Grant Total $ 300,000.00 Section 3. The herein total appropriation of $2,300,000.00 refers to the development of the Goombay Plaza Project by the Coconut Grove Local Development Corporation for the Coconut Grove Neighborhood target area, Section 4. All ordinances or parts of ordinances insofar as they are inconsistent or in conflict with the provisions of this Ordinance, are hereby repealed. Section 5. If any section, part of section, paragraph, clause, phrase or word of this Ordinance is declared invalid, the remaining provisions of this Ordinance shall not be affected F 11321 Section 6. BACKGROUND NET has analyzed the need to establish two (2) Special Revenue funds in the amount specified as follows: Goombay Plaza Section 108, $2,000,000.00; Goombay Plaza Economic Development Initiative Grant, $300,000.00.
