BACKGROUND On March 24, 1994, the City Commission adopted Resolution No. •94-156 authorizing the City Manager to submit a grant application for a street tree inventory to the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Forestry Division, under the Hurricane Andrew Urban Reforestation Grant Program. The City requested $25,000 to contract with a private firm .for an inventory of trees within the public rights -of -way. The resolution also authorized the City Manager to execute the necessary documents to accept and implement the grant, if it should be awarded. The City was awarded the grant for the entire requested amount, and a Hurricane Andrew Urban Reforestation Grant Memorandum of Agreement was signed on September 28, 1994.
