A RESOLUTION APPOINTING AND CONFIRMING THE
SELECTION OF CERTAIN INDIVIDUALS TO SERVE AS
MEMBERS OF THE CITY OF MIAMI AFFIRMATIVE
ACTION ADVISORY BOARD FOR TERMS AS DESIGNATED
HEREIN.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The following individuals are hereby
appointed as members of the City of Miami Affirmative Action

RECOMMENDATION:
It is -respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution authorizing
the appointment of six (6) individuals and confirming the appointment of one (1) individual to
serve on the Affirmative Action Advisory Board.
BACKGROUND:
The Office of Equal Opportunity/Diversity Programs respectfully requests the appointment of six
(6) individuals and the confirmation of one (1) individual to the Affirmative Action Advisory
Board. Females and Hispanics are under represented on the Board, comprising of 36% and 55%,
compared to 46% and 66%, respectfully, of Miami general population.
Commissioner Regalado has two (2) appointments as a result of his election to the City
Commission. Commissioner Dunn also has two (2) appointments. The following Board members
desire reappointment: Robert Valledor and Jesus Roiz (originally appointed by Mayor. Clark). The
Fraternal Order of Police request the confirmation of Alberta Duncan.
These appointments are in accordance with adopted Ordinance 11130, Sec 2-428, Membership on
Boards.
