HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-96-08590 J-96-1257 11/21/96 RESOLUTION NO.9 6 m 8 5 9 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO MARKET AND CONVEY TO QUALIFIED PROSPECTIVE HOME BUYERS TWENTY-THREE (23) NEW SINGLE FAMILY HOMES DEVELOPED AT THE CITY -SPONSORED SAINT HUGH OAKS CONDOMINIUM PROJECT LOCATED IN COCONUT GROVE; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ALL THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTS, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTY DEEDS, IN FORMS ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, FOR THE MARKETING AND CONVEYANCE OF SUBJECT HOMES. WHEREAS, in November of 1988, pursuant to Resolution No. 88-042, the City Commission approved the development of a thirty (30) unit single family residential homeownership development on the City -owned St. Hugh Oaks property for moderate income families in the Coconut Grove neighborhood; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 91-325 and Resolution No. 91-403, the City Commission further reduced the number of new single family detached homes being proposed on the subject parcel from twenty-eight (28) to twenty-three (23) units, respectively; and WHEREAS, at the July 14, 1994 City Commission meeting, the City Administration recommended to the City Commission that the new single family homes be marketed at $115,000/unit; and WHEREAS, at the June 13, 1996 City Commission meeting, pursuant to Resolution No 96-429, the City Commission authorized CITY CO1vdD'IISSION MEETING OF NOV 2 1 1996 Resolution ua. r i the City Manager to secure the services of Fortune International Realty (Realtor), to assist the City in the marketing and sales of the remaining condominium units at the St. Hugh Oaks j Condominium Project; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to qualified market and convey to prospective home buyers, twenty- three (23) new single family homes developed at the City - sponsored Saint Hugh Oaks Condominium Project located in Coconut Grove. Section 3. All sales transactions/closings which have occurred prior to this action are hereby retroactively approved. Section 4. The City Manager is hereby authorizedl/ to execute all necessary documents, including but not limited to The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code provisions. 2 - 96-859 Warranty Deeds, in forms acceptable to the City Attorney for the marketing and conveyance of subject homes.
