A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY
MANAGER TO PROCEED WITH PHASE I, THE FACT FINDING
PHASE, OF DETERMINING THE EXISTENCE OF POSSIBLE
LIABILITY ON THE PART OF THE CITY'S FORMER EXTERNAL
AUDITORS, DELOITTE & TOUCHE AND TO ENGAGE TOM
TEW OF THE LAW FIRM TEW AND BEASLEY, P.A. FOR THIS
PURPOSE; DIRECTING THAT ALL FINDINGS BE REPORTED TO
THE CITY COMMISSION PRIOR TO EMBARKING UPON
FURTHER ENDEAVORS; ALLOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR, IN
AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $25,000, FOR PHASE I OF
SAID INVESTIGATION, FROM ACCOUNT NO. 92-10-02,
MINOR OBJECT CODE 270.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:

Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to proceed with {
Phase 1, the fact finding phase, of determining the existence of possible liability on the part '
of the City's former external auditors, Deloitte & Touche and to engage Tom Tew of the i
law firm Tew & Beasley, P.A., for this purpose, with funds therefor hereby allocated, in an
amount not to exceed $25,000, from Account No. 92-10-02, Minor Object Code 270.
Section 2. The City Manager is hereby further directed to present all findings to
the City Commission prior to embarking upon further endeavors in this matter.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.
