HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-96-0766J-96-1162 10/ 10/96 RESOLUTION NO. 9 6- 766 A RESOLUTION, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXTEND THE CONTRACTS, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY AND AT THE SAME PRICE, TERMS AND CONDITIONS, WITH MARTIN'S LAMAR UNIFORMS. FOR THE PROVISION OF POLICE UNIFORMS AND LEATHER GOODS FOR A PERIOD OF FOUR (4) MONTHS, BEGINNING ON OCTOBER 1, 1996 AND ENDING JANUARY 31, 1997; ALLOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $50,000, FROM THE POLICE DEPARTMENT GENERAL OPERATING BUDGET, INDEX CODE 290201-075. WHEREAS, the Police Department needs to extend the existing contracts with Martin's Lamar Uniforms while they review received bids so they may make an award recommendation; and WHEREAS, the Department must still have the ability to provide uniforms to new hires and for replacement of worn/damaged items; and WHEREAS, Martin's Lamar Uniforms has provided quality service to the Police Department; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. .CITY COIVMSSION MEETING OF O C T 1 O 1996 jResolutiion No. 96-- 66 [i Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized' to extend the contract, in a form acceptable to the City Attorney and at the same price, terms, and conditions, with Martin's Lamar Uniforms, for the provision of police uniforms and leather goods, for a period of four (4) months, beginning October 1, 1996 and ending January 31, 1997; allocating funds therefor, in an amount not to exceed $50,000, from the Police Department General Operating Budget, Index Code 290201-075. Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 10th day of October, 1996.
