HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-96-0752J-96-1062 9/26/96 RESOLUTION NO. 96 752 A RESOLUTION APPOINTING CERTAIN INDIVIDUALS TO SERVE AS MEMBERS OF THE NUISANCE ABATEMENT BOARD FOR TERMS AS DESIGNATED HEREIN. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The following individuals are hereby appointed as members of the Nuisance Abatement Board, each member to serve a term expiring May 5, 1997, or until the nominating commissioner leaves office, whichever occurs first: APPOINTEES: NOMINATED BY: Eddy Lacasa Mayor Joe Carollo Monique Taylor Commissioner Richard P. Dunn, II Rolando Delgado Commissioner Tomas Regalado Section 2. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption. PASSED AND ADOPTED this loth day of October , 1996. City Cler ENCLOSURES : (List of Members) i The Nuisance Abatement Board was created to resolve controversies over the existence of public nuisances, such as violative use of property in Miami. City Code Section 2-429 states: "The terms of office of the members of each board shall run concurrently with the term of office of the commissioner that nominates each member. When the nominating commissioner leaves office the board member's term shall expire." Three appointments are needed at this time: • Mayor Carollo has one nomination. Said seat is currently held by Norman Powell, Esq., who had been nominated by former Mayor Clark, for a term which expired on May 5, 1996, Commissioner Regaiado has one nomination. Said seat is currently held by Bob Valledor, who had been nominated by former Commissioner De Yurre, for a term which expired on May 5, 1996. • Commissioner Dunn has one nomination. Said seat is currently held by Monique Taylor, who had been nominated by former Commissioner Dawkins, for a term which will expire on May 5, 1997. For your information, attached please find a copy of the current membership of said board.
