A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO
THE CITY ATTORNEY, WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF
OFF --STREET PARKING ("DOSP") , FOR A PERIOD OF
FIVE YEARS WITH AN OPTION TO EXTEND THE TERM
j FOR AN ADDITIONAL FIVE YEARS, FOR THE
MANAGEMENT AND OPERATION OF THE PARKING LOTS
LOCATED AT THE COCONUT GROVE CONVENTION
CENTER AND AT THE PARKING LOT LOCATED AT THE
NORTHEAST CORNER OF PAN AMERICAN DRIVE AND
SOUTH BAYSHORE DRIVE, COCONUT GROVE, MIAMI,
FLORIDA, SAID AGREEMENT TO INCLUDE THE
FUNDING REQUIRED FOR IMPROVEMENTS AT SAID
LOTS, WITH DOSP CONTRIBUTING UP TO $65,000
TOWARD CONSTRUCTION.
WHEREAS, the Department of Conferences, Conventions and
Public Facilities currently operates public parking lots located
at the Coconut Grove Convention Center; and

WHEREAS, the City of Miami is the owner of public property
located at the northeast corner of Pan American Drive and South
I 4;
Bayshore Drive and wishes to make improvements at said lot to
provide additional parking for visitors to the Coconut Grove
Convention Center and surrounding area; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Off -Street Parking ("DOSP") has
agreed to manage and operate parking services at said lots for a

period of five years with an option to extend the term for an
additional five years, at terms and conditions more particularly '

set forth in the Management Agreement, which terms shall include
a thirty (30) day cancellation clause at the option of either
party; and
WHEREAS, in order to assure professional parking services,
DOSP will contribute funds for improvements to said lots with the
Department of Off -Street Parking contributing up to $65,000
toward construction;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the
Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference
thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this
Section.
Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorizedll to
execute an agreement, in a form acceptable to the City Attorney,
with the Department of Off -Street Parking ("DOSP"), for a period
of five years with an option to extend the term for an additional
five years, for the management and operation of the parking lots

located at the Coconut Grove Convention Center and at the
northeast corner of Pan American Drive and South Bayshore Drive,
Coconut Grove, Miami, Florida, said agreement to include the
funding required for improvements at said lots with DOSP
contributing up to $65,000 toward construction.

1� The herein authorization is further subject to compliance
with all requirements that may be imposed by the City
Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by
applicable City Charter and Code provisions.

between the City of Miami and the Departratut of Off -Street Parking for the xnanageuicnt and

provision of farads in w amount not to exceed $65,000 from the Department of Off -Street Parking
for improvements to the parking lot at the northeast comer of Pan American Drive and South
Bayshore i)rive.
The City of Miami is the owner of public property located at the northeast corner of Pan American
Drive and South Rayshore Drive, and wishes to provide parking spaces at mid property to serve
visitors to Coconut Grove Convention Center and the surrounding area_ This Agreement outlines
the terms and conditions for the Department of Off -Street Parking to provide funds for
improvements to this lot to provide parking spaces, and to manage, operate, direcT and supervise the
use of this lot and the other parking lots at the Coconut Grove Convention Center. The Department
of Conferences, Conventions and Public Facilities has reviewed this Management Agreement
between the City and the Department of Off -Street Parking, and recommends that the City Manager
enter into said Agreement. This Agreement is for a term of five (5) years, with can option to extend
the tern, for an additional five (5) years, including a thirty (30) day cancellation clause at the option
of either party.
