The City of Miami has received funds from a successful application under the Law Enforcement
Block Grant Program. A condition of the grant requires the appointment of an Advisory Board to
make non -binding recommendations on the use of funds. The Dade -Miami Criminal Justice
Council has offered its service in this capacity. The Department and the Council have had a very
good working relationship over the years. I, therefore, request that this matter is included in the
October 10`h, 1996, Commission agenda as a discussion item. We have attached a proposed
Resolution which the Commission can adopt should they concur with this recommendation.
