HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-96-0697�i J-96-1151 10/7/96 RESOLUTION NO. 9 6 — 697 A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING DEEPEST SYMPATHY AND SINCEREST CONDOLENCES OF THE CITY' COMMISSION ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF MIAMI AND ITS CITIZENS TO THE FAMILY AND FRIENDS OF HELEN MILLER, UPON HER UNTIMELY DEATH. WHEREAS, Helen Miller, who recently passed away, leaves behind an outstanding record as an elected public official and as a civic activist; and WHEREAS, Ms. Miller's many accomplishments include her being elected as the first black municipal mayor in Dade County and also as Vice -Mayor of the City of Opalocka; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Commission, on behalf of the City of Miami and its citizens, to express its deepest sympathy to the family and friends of Helen Miller; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. On behalf of the citizens of the City of Miami, the City Commission hereby conveys to the family and friends of Helen Miller, its deepest sympathy and sincerest condolences, upon her untimely death.
