HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-96-0681J-96-1163 10/10/96 w RESOLUTION NO. 0 6 - 681 A RESOLUTION, WITH ATTACHMENT, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO AMEND THE ILLY 1996 ACTION PLAN FOR HOUSING OPPORTUNITIES FOR PERSONS WITH AIDS (HOPWA) PROGRAMS TO ELIMINATE FUNDING FOR PERMANENT HOUSING AND ADOPT CITY STAFF ORIGINAL RECOMMENDATION. WHEREAS, the HOPWA Advisory Board (HAB) has held public hearings on the funding level of eligible activities; and WHEREAS, the HAB is of the opinion that the Development of permanent housing is too time consuming and too costly; and WHEREAS, on July 15, 1996, the HAB recommended that the chairperson, Mr. Gene Suarez, request a personal appearance at the September 12, 1996, City Commission meeting to express the HAB's desire to amend the FY 1996 Action Plan for HOPWA to eliminate funding for permanent housing and adopt City staff original recommendation; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the. Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. The City Manager is hereby authorized to amend the FY 1996 Action Plan for Housing Opportunities For Persons with Aids (HOPWA) to eliminate funding for permanent housing and adopt City staff original recommendation.
