HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-96-0441C, J-96-585 6/13/96 RESOLUTION NO. 9 6 - 441 A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING SPECIAL CHARGES, TERMS AND CONDITIONS, AS SET FORTH HEREIN, FOR ISSUANCE OF A PARK PERMIT TO BANNERMAN BROTHERS/SUNNY BOY RECORDS, INC. FOR USE OF AN AREA IN THE OLD PORTION OF VIRGINIA KEY BEACH FOR A SPECIAL EVENT TO BE HELD ON DUNE 16, 1996; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DIRECT THE DIRECTOR OF THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION TO ISSUE THE NECESSARY PERMIT, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY. WHEREAS, Bannerman Brothers/Sunny Boy Records, Inc. ("Bannerman") has requested the use of an area in the old portion of Virginia Key Beach for a special event to be held on June 16, 1996; and WHEREAS, the City shall designate an area on the old portion of Virginia Key Beach to be utilized for said special event; and WHEREAS, such proposed use necessitates the establishment of special charges, terms and conditions beyond those mandated under existing City Charter and Code provisions; and WHEREAS, Bannerman has agreed to pay a total rental fee of $1500 by June 13, 1996 for the use of an area in the old portion of Virginia Key Beach for said special event - $500 of the total fee to serve as a non-refundable deposit to reserve the event CITY COM aSSION MEETING OF JU N 1 3 1996 Resolution No. 96- 441 ;n z 'a WHEREAS, Bannerman has agreed to pay the following additional fees and charges by June 13, 1996: (1) the standard beer/wine permit fee of $300 per day, and (2) concession fee of $50 per booth per day; and WHEREAS, Bannerman will be required to pay the applicable ticket surcharge stipulated in the City Code on the date of the event; and WHEREAS, the City will conduct parking operations and charge E $3 per car; and I WHEREAS, Bannerman will additionally pay for all required f and customary City services including such costs required for personnel from the Departments of Police, Fire -Rescue, General Services Administration/Solid Waste and Parks and Recreation; and WHEREAS, Bannerman will provide appropriate insurance in a form and in amounts acceptable to the City's Risk Management j Division; and WHEREAS, it is recommended that the City Manager be i authorized to direct the Director of Parks and Recreation Department to issue a park permit for said purpose, containing the special charges, terms and conditions as set forth hereinabove; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: f' i Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the I Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. 2 - 9G-- 441 I Section 2. Special charges, terms and conditions, as set forth in Section 1 hereinabove, are hereby established for issuance of a park permit to Bannerman Brothers/Sunny Boy Records, Inc. for use of an area in the old portion of Virginia Key Beach for a special event to be held on June 16, 1996. Section 3. The City Manager is hereby authorizedlto direct the Director of the Department of Parks and Recreation to issue the necessary permit, in a form acceptable to the City II Attorney, for said purpose. i Section 4.
