A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING SPECIAL CHARGES, TERMS AND CONDITIONS, AS SET FORTH HEREIN, FOR ISSUANCE OF A PARK PERMIT TO CHJ PRODUCTIONS FOR USE OF AN AREA IN THE OLD PORTION OF VIRGINIA KEY BEACH FOR A SPECIAL EVENT TO BE HELD ON JULY 6, 1996; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DIRECT THE DIRECTOR OF THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION TO ISSUE THE NECESSARY PERMIT, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY. WHEREAS, CHJ Productions has requested the use of an area in the old portion of Virginia Key Beach for a special event to be held on July 6, 1996; and WHEREAS, the City shall designate an area on the old portion of Virginia Key Beach to be utilized for said special event; and WHEREAS, such proposed use necessitates the establishment of special charges, terms and conditions beyond those mandated under existing City Charter and Code provisions; and WHEREAS, CHJ Productions has agreed to pay a total rental fee of $1000 by July 2, 1996 for the use of an area in the old portion of Virginia Key Beach for said special event - $500 of the total fee to serve as a non-refundable deposit to reserve the event date; and CITY CON MISSIOiq MEETING OF JU N 1 3 1996 Resolution No. 9 6 r- 42,01 WHEREAS, CHJ Productions has agreed to pay the following additional fees and charges by July 2, 1996: (1) the standard beer/wine permit fee of $300 per day, and (2) concession fee of $50 per booth per day; and WHEREAS, CHJ Productions will be required to pay the applicable ticket surcharge stipulated in the City Code on the date of the event; and WHEREAS, the City will conduct parking operations and charge $3 per car; and WHEREAS, CHJ Productions will additionally pay for all required and customary City services including such costs required for personnel from the Departments of Police, Fire - Rescue, General Services Administration/Solid Waste and Parks and Recreation; and WHEREAS, CHJ Productions will provide appropriate insurance in a form and in amounts acceptable to the City's Risk Management Division; and WHEREAS, it is recommended that the City Manager be authorized to direct the Director of Parks and Recreation Department to issue a park permit for said purpose, containing the special hereinabove; 1 charges, terms and conditions as set forth NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference - 2 - 96- 423 thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. Special charges, terms and conditions, as set forth in Section 1 hereinabove, are hereby established for issuance of a park permit to CHJ Productions for use of an area in the old portion of Virginia Key Beach for a special event to be held on July 6, 1996. Section 3. The City Manager is hereby authorizedl'l to direct the Director of the Department of Parks and Recreation to issue the necessary permit, in a form acceptable to the City Attorney, for said purpose.
