This program rewards youth for being leaders in the community, not using drugs, portraying a positive image and excelling in education. The program also allows children living in high -crime areas to interact with uniformed police officers in non -confrontational settings establishing positive associations and enhancing mutual respect. Since its inception, the "Do The Right Thing" program has grown by attracting a number of influential sponsors. Major sponsors include: Blockbuster Video, American Express, J.C. Penney's, Eckerds Drug Stores, and McDonalds.
