Home My WebLink AboutR-96-0322y J-96-379 5/3/96 RESOLUTION NO. 9 6 322 A RESOLUTION, BY A 4/5THS AFFIRMATIVE VOTE OF THE MEMBERS OF THE CITY COMMISSION, AFTER A DULY ADVERTISED PUBLIC HEARING, RATIFYING, APPROVING, AND CONFIRMING THE CITY MANAGER'S FINDING OF AN EMERGENCY AND APPROVING THE ACQUISITION OF TWO HUNDRED (200) COMPLETE SETS OF POLICE PURSUIT VEHICLE DECAL MARKINGS, THIRTY (30) DAMAGED VEHICLE REPAIR KITS AND INSTALLATION SERVICES FROM TRIM LINE OF MIAMI, INC., UTILIZING DADE COUNTY BID NO. 3635-5/93-3, AT A TOTAL PROPOSED AMOUNT OF $37,485.00; ALLOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR FROM ACCOUNT NO. 420902-880, PROJECT NO. 509000, FOR SAID ACQUISITION; FURTHER, RATIFYING, APPROVING AND CONFIRMING THE CITY MANAGER'S ISSUANCE OF AN EMERGENCY PURCHASE ORDER FOR SAID PURPOSE. WHEREAS, the Department of General Services Administration and Solid Waste, Graphic Reproduction Division, had to acquire decal markings for the 200 Ford Crown Victoria police pursuit vehicles that were approved by the City Commission, pursuant to Resolution No. 95-770; and WHEREAS, said vehicles are on order and due to arrive at any time and will require decal markings in order for the police cars to be placed in service; and WHEREAS, as part of the ongoing contractual program to provide take-home vehicles for police officers, the in-service models will replace vehicles that are five years old and have reached the mandated replacement schedule criteria; and CITY COMIUSSION MEETING OF MAY 2 3 1996 Resolution No. ti WHEREAS, funds for said purchase and installation services are available from Account No. 420902-880, Project No. 509000; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Assistant City Manager recommend that the purchase, utilizing existing Metro Dade County Bid No. 3635-5-/93-3, for a total amount of $37,485.00, be approved; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. By a 4/5ths affirmative vote of the member of the City Commission, after a duly advertised public hearing, ratifying, approving and confirming the City Manager's finding of an emergency and approving the acquisition of two hundred (200) complete sets of police pursuit vehicle decal markings, and thirty (30) damaged vehicle repair kits and installation services from Trim Line of Miami, Inc., utilizing existing Metro Dade County Bid No. 3635-5/93-3, with funds therefor hereby allocated from Account No. 420902-880, Project No. 509000 for said acquisition. Section 3. Police Pursuit Cars City ger ENCLOSURES: It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission pass the attached resolution ratifying, approving and confirming the City Manager's emergency action in authorizing the procurement of two hundred (200) complete sets of police pursuit vehicle decal markings, thirty (30) damaged vehicle repair kits, and installation services from Trim Line of Miami, Inc., a non - minority vendor, located at 2755 West 81 Street, Hialeah, Florida, 33016, in the amount of $37,485.00, using Dade County Bid No. 3635-5/93-3. BACKGROUND The Department of General Services Administration and Solid Waste, Graphic Reproductions Division, had to acquire decal markings for the two hundred (200) Ford Crown Victoria police pursuit specification cars that were approved by the City Commission pursuant to Resolution No. 95-770. These vehicles are on order and due to arrive soon. This emergency purchase of required decal markings need to arrive on approximately the same schedule as the vehicles on order that there will be minimal delays in placing these police cars in service. As a part of the ongoing contractual program to provide take-home vehicles for police officers, the in-service newer models will replace vehicles that are five (5) years old and have reached the mandated replacement schedule criteria.
