RESOLUTION NO., �'�
A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING DEEPEST SYMPATHY AND
SINCEREST CONDOLENCES OF THE CITY COMMISSION
ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF MIAMI AND ITS
CITIZENS TO THE FAMILY AND FRIENDS OF NEAL
ADAMS UPON HIS UNTIMELY DEATH.
WHEREAS, Neal Adams, who recently passed away, leaves behind
an outstanding record as an advocate for civil rights, astute
businessman and community leader; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Adams many accomplishments include his success
as a local merchant, his extensive civic service on various
Metropolitan Dade County and City of Miami boards and committees
and his appointment and subsequent election as a Metropolitan
Dade County Commissioner; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Adams was also a stalwart member of the
National Association for the Advancement of Colored People
(NAACP) and had the distinction of being the first black person
to serve on a Dade County grand jury; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Commission, on behalf
of the City of Miami and its citizens, to express its deepest
sympathy to the family and friends of Neal Adams;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:

Section 1.. On behalf of the citizens of the City of
Miami, the City Commission hereby conveys to the family and
friends of Neal Adams, its deepest sympathy and sincerest
condolences, upon his untimely death.
Section 2. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 29th day of March , 1996.
