RESOLUTION NO. 9 6 - 156
A RESOLUTION, WITH ATTACHMENT, APPROVING
FIFTEEN (15) BUSINESSES, THE NAMES OF WHICH
ARE ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF,
LOCATED IN THE LITTLE HAVANA TARGET AREA TO
PARTICIPATE IN THE CITYWIDE COMMERCIAL FACADE
REHABILITATION PROGRAM ("PROGRAM");
ALLOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR, IN THE AMOUNT OF
$21,000, FROM SAID PROGRAM, PROJECT NO.
799602; STIPULATING REQUIRED FUNDING MATCH
AND DOCUMENTATION PROCEDURES.
WHEREAS, the Comprehensive Citywide Commercial
Rehabilitation Facade Treatment Program (the "Program") was
approved in the Fourteenth (14th) Year Community Development
Block Grant Application pursuant to Resolution No. 88-384; and
WHEREAS, the Program is designed to promote economic
revitalization in the neighborhoods of the City of Miami and is
an important part of the City's economic development strategy;
and
WHEREAS, funds for the facade rehabilitation are available
from the Program, Project No. 799602; and
WHEREAS, the fifteen (15) commercial properties proposed for
rehabilitation pursuant to the Program are located within the
Little Havana Target Area;
WHEREAS, eligibility for assistance under the Program is
based upon a 70%/30% fund match, with the City providing 70%

and the business or property owner providing 30% of the cost of
rehabilitation, which shall not exceed a total amount of
$2,000.00 per participating business; and
WHEREAS, the properties to be rehabilitated have been
reviewed by the City of Miami NET, the Small Business Opportunity
Center, Inc. (SBOC); and
WHEREAS, the SBOC has the necessary expertise and is willing
to provide the necessary services to implement the Program,
disburse the allocated funds to the participating businesses in
accordance with the Program, and provide the necessary
documentation upon completion of the project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the
Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference
thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this
Section.
Section 2. Fifteen (15) businesses, the names of which
are attached hereto and made a part hereof, located in the Little
Havana Target Area are hereby approved for participation in the
Citywide Commercial Facade Rehabilitation Program ("Program"),
with funds therefor hereby allocated from said Program, Project
No. 799602.
Section 3. Financial assistance to be provided by the
City under the Program shall be based upon a 70%/30% fund match,
with the City contributing up to $1,400.00 (70%) per
participating business and the business or property owner

contributing up to $600.00 (30%), for a total amount not to
exceed $2,000.00.
Section 4. Upon completion of the rehabilitation, the
Small Business Opportunity Center, Inc., shall present all
documentation and invoices generated by, or pertaining to, the
project to the City of Miami NET.
Section 5. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption.
