Home My WebLink AboutR-96-0122J-96-177 2/29/96 RESOLUTION NO. 9 6- 122 A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BID OF PRIME ELECTRIC, TO PROVIDE ELECTRICAL MAINTENANCE SERVICES, ON AN AS -NEEDED BASIS, AT THE CITY OF MIAMI RIVERSIDE CENTER, LOCATED AT 444 SOUTHWEST 2ND AVENUE, MIAMI, FLORIDA, ON A CONTRACT BASIS FOR A ONE YEAR PERIOD WITH THE OPTION TO EXTEND FOR TWO ADDITIONAL ONE YEAR PERIODS, AT AN ESTIMATED FIRST YEAR COST OF $10,000.00; ALLOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR FROM ACCOUNT CODE NO. 921135 FOR SAID SERVICES; AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO INSTRUCT THE CHIEF PROCUREMENT OFFICER TO ISSUE A PURCHASE ORDER FOR SAID SERVICES AND THEREAFTER TO EXTEND SAID CONTRACT FOR TWO ADDITIONAL ONE YEAR PERIODS, UPON THE SAME TERMS, PRICES AND CONDITIONS, AND SUBJECT TO THE AVAILABILITY OF FUNDS. WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received January 25, 1996, for the provision of electrical maintenance services, on as as -needed basis, at the City of Miami Riverside Center, 400 Southwest 2nd Avenue, Miami, Florida, on a contract basis for a period of one year with the option to extend for two additional one year periods; and WHEREAS, three bids were received in response to Invitation to Bid No. 95-96-044; and WHEREAS, funds for said service are available from Account Code No. 921135; and WHEREAS, it is recommended that Prime Electric be accepted as the lowest responsible and responsive bid; CITY COMMISSION MEETING OF FEB 2 9 1996 Resolution No. 96-r 122 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA; Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The January 29, 1996 bid of Prime Electric is hereby accepted to provide electrical maintenance services, on an as -needed basis, at the City of Miami Riverside Center, located at 444 Southwest 2nd Avenue, Miami, Florida, on a contract basis for a one year period with the option to extend for two additional one year periods, at an estimated first year cost of $10,000.00, with funds therefor hereby allocated from Account Code No. 921135 for said services. Section 3. The City Manager is hereby authorized-/ to instruct the Chief Procurement Officer to issue a purchase order for said services and thereafter to extend said contract for two additional one year periods, upon the same terms, prices and conditions, and subject to the availability of funds. li The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code provisions. - 2 - 96- 122 Section 4. BACKGROUND: The Office of Asset Management has prepared the attached Resolution for consideration by the City Commission. These services are necessary. for emergency and non -emergency electrical repairs at the City of Miami Riverside Center. Three bids were received in response to this solicitation with Prime Electric, Inc. being the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. It is recommended at this time that the City Commission adopt the attached Resolution accepting the bid of Prime Electric, Inc. and authorizing the City Manager to instruct the Chief Procurement Officer to issue a purchase order for these services. Bids submitted after the deadline and/or submitted to any other location or office shall be deemed non -responsive and shall be rejected. Ordinance No. 10062, as amended, established a goal of awarding 51 % of the City's total dollar volume of all expenditures for all good and services to Black, Hispanic and Women Minority Business Enterprises on an equal basis.
