A RESOLUTION RELATING TO TEMPORARY SPECIAL EVENTS; AUTHORIZING THE OPERATORS OF METRO PARKING AND CENTRAL PARKING TO UTILIZE THEIR RESPECTIVE UNIMPROVED PARKING LOTS IN THE VICINITY OF THE MIAMI ARENA AS TEMPORARY SPECIAL EVENT (PARKING) SITES, NOT TO EXCEED 75 SUCH EVENTS, PER SITE, PER OPERATOR, SUBJECT TO SAID OPERATORS OBTAINING A CLASS I SPECIAL PERMIT FOR EACH EVENT AND PAYING REQUIRED FEES; AND PROVIDING FOR AUTHORIZATION PERIOD. WHEREAS, Section 906.9(c) of Ordinance No. 11000, the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Miami, authorizes the City Commission to increase the number of temporary special events allowed per site, per year; and WHEREAS, the Acting Zoning Administrator has opined, during today's public hearing on this matter, that said Section 906.9(c) also applies to parking, and authorizes the City Commission to increase the number of special events on public and private property; and WHEREAS, the City Commission, after careful consideration of this matter, deems it advisable and in the best interest of the general welfare of the City of Miami and its inhabitants to alleviate potential parking problems during events in the Miami Arena by increasing the permissible number of temporary (parking) special events, per site, as hereinafter set forth; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preambles to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. CITY COMMISSION MEETING OF F E B 2 9 1996 Resolution No, 96- 115 Section 2. Increases in the number of temporary special events, per site for parking use, are hereby granted as set forth below. Section 3. The operators of Metro Parking and Central Parking are hereby authorized, as set forth below, to utilize their respective unimproved parking lots, in the vicinity of the Miami Arena, as Temporary Special Event (parking) sites. Section 4. The herein authorization, which terminates on December 31, 1996, is limited to seventy-five (75) such events, per operator, per site. Said approval is also subject to each operator obtaining a Class I Special Permit for their respective sites for each event and paying applicable fees. Section 5.
