RESOLUTION NO. J 6 - 83.3
A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING DEEPEST SYMPATHY AND
SINCEREST CONDOLENCES OF THE CITY COMMISSION
ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF MIAMI AND ITS
CITIZENS TO THE FAMILY AND FRIENDS OF
PABLO MORALES, UPON HIS UNTIMELY DEATH.
WHEREAS, Pablo Morales, along with Armando 'Ale j andre, Jr.,
Carlos Costa and Mario de la Pena, was a volunteer for the
humanitarian organization "Brothers to the Rescue"; and
WHEREAS, on Saturday, February 24, 1996, Mr. Morales and the
others, all perished when their two single -engine Cessnas were
downed by the Cuban Air Force while flying over international
waters, on a Brothers to the Rescue mission to assist possible
Cuban rafters crossing the Straits of Florida; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Commission, on behalf
of the City of Miami and its citizens, to express its deepest
sympathy to the family and friends of Pablo Morales;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:

Section 1. On behalf of the citizens of the City of
Miami, the City Commission hereby conveys to the family and

friends of Pablo Morales, its deepest sympathy and sincerest
condolences, upon his untimely death.
Section 2. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 26th day of February 1996.

Oto ift'ttion with resolutions of condolence (96-83.1, 96-83.2, 96-83.3 and 96-83.4) to
the family and friends of the four downed Brothers to the Rescue pilots, as they were
presented to the families during a special mass held at the Orange Bowl on Saturday,
March 2nd.
