RESOLUTION NO. 9 S 25
A RESOLUTION APPOINTING AND CONFIRMING THE
APPOINTMENT OF CERTAIN INDIVIDUALS TO SERVE
AS MEMBERS OF THE CITY OF MIAMI AFFIRMATIVE
ACTION ADVISORY BOARD FOR TERMS AS DESIGNATED
HEREIN.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The following individual is hereby appointed
as a member of the City of Miami Affirmative Action Advisory
Board for a term as designated herein:

ENCLOSURES:
It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the
attached resolution authorizing the appointment of three (3)
individuals and confirmation of one (1) individual to serve on
the Affirmative Action Advisory Board.
BACKGROUND:
the Office of Equal Opportunity/Diversity Programs respectfully
requests the appointment of three (3) individuals and the
confirmation of one (1) individual to the Affirmative Action
Advisory Board. Females and Hispanics are underrepresented on
the Board, comprising 400-. and 40%, compared to 450-. and 660,
respectively, of the City of Miami's labor force.
commissioner Joe Carollo has two appointments as a result of his
election to the City Commission. Commissioner Wilfredo Gort has
one appointment. The American Federation of State, City and
Municipal Employees, Local #1907 also has one confirmation to the
Board.
These appointments and confirmation are in accordance with
adopted Ordinance 11130, Sec. 2-428, Membership on Boards.
