ORDINANCE NO. 1 1 3 6 2
AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION
52.6-3 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA, AS AMENDED, THEREBY AMENDING THE
MEMBERSHIP PROVISIONS APPLICABLE TO THE MIAMI
SPORTS AND EXHIBITION AUTHORITY; CONTAINING A
REPEALER PROVISION AND A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. Section 52.6-3 of the Code of the City of
Miami, Florida, as amended, concerning the Miami Sports and
Exhibition Authority is hereby amended in the following
particulars:l/
"Section 52.6-3 Governing body.
(a) Composition. The authority shall consist of
thirteen (9:3) five ( 5 ) voting members to be appointed
by the city commission, one (1) of which shall be a
city commissioner appointed by the city commission as
an ex-officio member and the chairperson thereof. The
mayor shall nem4:natethree- (3 ) meriberT and each city
commissioner, except for the city commissioner
appointed as chairperson, shall nominate bwe--(2) one
(1Z membere_ , at large, shaI4

Underscored words and/or figures shall be added. The
remaining provisions are now in effect and remain unchanged.

(c) Term of members. The voting members shall
serve for a twe year one (1) year term of office.
Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances insofar
as they are inconsistent or in conflict with the provisions of
this Ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 3. If any section, part of section, paragraph,
clause, phrase or word of this Ordinance is declared invalid, the
remaining provisions of this Ordinance shall not be affected.
Section 4. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an
emergency measure on the grounds of urgent public need for the
preservation of peace, health, safety, and property of the City
of Miami.
Section 5. The requirement of reading this Ordinance on
two separate days is hereby dispensed with by an affirmative vote
of not less than four -fifths of the members of the Commission.
Section 6. This Ordinance shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption.
